SERGIO Aguero continued to be a force to be reckoned with, as Manchester City recorded an emphatic 4-1 win over Sunderland.

Despite losing their last four matches at the Stadium of Light, nothing could stop the Amazing Aguero as him and City routed the Black Cats to continue to keep the pressure on League Leaders Chelsea.

While Sunderland won the last four times City had visited the Stadium of Light, not even the pitch invasion of Spiderman could save the Black Cats tonight.

But the script could have read completely differently, as Sunderland piled on early pressure with Pablo Zabaletablocking Jack Rodwell‘s chance 4 minutes in.

Sunderland eventually broke through as Connor Whickham deflected Zabaleta’s tackle into the net to give Sunderland the lead in the 19th minute.

However it didn’t take long for the visitors to retaliate as two minutes later, Aguero nutmegged Sebastian Coates en-route to putting away a beautiful individual effort to level things up.

Having got things rolling, City started causing problems for the Sunderland as the Black Cats’ defense started looking sloppy.

City went ahead after an amazing link-up from Yaya Toure, Aguero and Stevan Jovetic to see Jovetic net home five minutes from half-time.

As the second half began, Sunderland looked to get themselves right back in it, with Sebastian Larsson testing keeper Joe Hart early on.

However, City simply had Sunderland on the back-foot doing a great job of keeping control of possession with great chemistry being demonstrated by the title holders.

This eventually lead to City’s third in the 55th minute as Sami Nasri hit a brilliant through-ball to set up Zabaleta who chipped the ball in.

Sunderland’s Jozy Alitodre had broken away for a number of chances but the City defense did a tremendous job at keeping the home side at bay.

City continued to pile on the misery for Sunderland as sub James Milner set up Aguero for his second of the night in the 71st minute.

Aguero came off to a huge applause as he was eventually brought-off for Frank Lampard before he could get his hat-trick.

DOES WHATEVER A SPIDER CAN: Spidey making his way off the pitch after disrupting play at the Stadium Of Light

The stars were out to watch this one, including former boxer and City fan Ricky Hatton.

But there was one in particular that swung into action!

Sunderland needed a hero to save themselves near the end, and had one in the form of the friendly neighborhood Spiderman!

A pitch invader made his way onto the pitched dressed as the legendary superhero, but was quickly removed from the stadium by stewards!

The full-time whistle blew as City remained in distance of league leaders Chelsea, who themselves had won convincingly over Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0 the same night.
